The next in the Brat Pack series is Sixteen Candles, which I didn't enjoy as much as the other films, but I still liked it. This film takes place over the course of two days: Samantha Baker's (Molly Ringwald) birthday and her older sister's wedding, which follows the day after. Samantha has always dreamed of her 16th birthday as the best day of her life, yet when it does arrive, no one remembers. Samantha has a big crush on popular Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling), who's currently dating Caroline Mulford (Haviland Morris). Farmer Ted (Anthony Michael Hall), who's not really a farmer but some people call him that, is the freshman geek who likes Samantha and tries very hard to win her (or at least, get her panties). It's a happy story with many funny moments, though I didn't think Long Duk Dong (Gedde Watanabe) was necessary. I thought he was annoying and offensive to the Asian race. Ugh, whatever. It's a great fun film; a definite must-watch for fans of the Brat Pack and teen films.
